Confirmation is an important step in a young person’s faith journey. It marks a new measure of reflection on and commitment to living as a person of faith. At First Congregational Church, confirmation encourages curiosity and questions, supports biblical literacy and interpretation, promotes theological reflection in age-appropriate ways, and nurtures a connection to the congregation.
Middle School students begin confirmation in the fall of their sixth-grade year. Confirmands are invited to church on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Two Wednesdays each month are devoted to class and two Wednesdays each month are for Youth Group events and activities. An annual calendar outlines the specific schedule.
Students are invited to confirm their faith in the spring of their ninth-grade year. High School students meet for class once each month and participate in Youth Group twice each month. Class and Youth Group meetings are 6:30 – 7:30 pm on Wednesdays. An annual calendar outlines the specific schedule.
